Make your Cabot Trail road trip a private one. You’ll get to see everything from rugged coastlines to the rolling mountains – part of the Appalachian Mountian Range – and quaint local towns.
It’s just your own group and your driver/guide, so it’s highly customizable. You can hit all the spots that interest you most, including Cape Breton Highlands National Park, and enjoy some amazing local food along the way. I recommend the Rusty Anchor near Pleasant Bay!
I also suggest a stop at the Groovy Goat in Ingonish for their made-in-house sorbets, gelatos, as well as their own goats milk soaps and lotions. You can even pet the goats out in the barn!
Be sure also to visit some of the many artisan shops along the drive. There are so many opportunities to take home extraordinary keepsakes of your trip.
Views like the one above from the Sky Line Trail are amazing, but you don’t have to do the hike to see incredible sights like this one. There are turnouts along the Trail near the hike offer similar breathtaking vistas.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the views without worrying about driving—it’s a full-day adventure that’s all about the journey. Make sure your camera has lots of memory and battery life!
